JDS Properties & Developments Ltd, have agreed a shirt sponsorship deal to support Beacon Cricket Club for the next three seasons.
Jonathan Rogers, Director of JDS, has been a keen supporter of Camborne Rugby Club for many years, and in another step to support grassroots sport sought to give something back to his local cricket club. Mr Rogers commented, "I played for Beacon in the 90’s before moving away to university and loved being part of the club. My time as a player gave me an appreciation for the hard work that goes into running a local club and the challenge of making things work financially. It feels great to give something back".
The support of JDS not only helps the two adult teams competing in the Cornwall Cricket Leagues, but also the youth section that has been revived under player/coaches David Williams, Mark Lampshire and Darren Proctor, who is also Chairman at the club. Darren said: "The importance of a strong youth section is apparent in our current first team squad with many players having come through the set up. We are keen to give all boys and girls in the local community the chance to play and have fun, and nurture those that want to progress to league cricket".
Youth training takes place every Monday at The Beacon Cricket Ground, Tolcarne Road, Beacon from 6 to 7pm each Monday night and is free of charge. Contact [email protected] for more information.
